I was on Pinterest last night and I came across a photo of a hipster couple’s wedding photo. It made me chuckle as the dude had an owl on his arm. I researched the photo further to find out that it was a photo shoot for a woodland wedding, but it sent me into the depths of Pinterest hunting down hipster wedding photos. I wanted to see what the trends were and just what was considered “hipster” about it. It seems to me, a hipster wedding is usually in a barn (if you’re from the country) or on a gritty, city street (if you’re more of an urban hipster). The gal is clad in white…basically looking fairly traditional and the dude gets a break and ditches the suit coat for a vest, bow tie and Converse. It all comes down to what you think the word “hipster” implies. I had a lengthy discussion over this very topic last weekend whilst sipping wine at a party. For me personally, hipster ten years ago…implied a certain coolness factor…but one that wasn’t gagged upon…nowadays if you mention the word hipster, eyes start rolling and a gag reflux gets triggered. I miss the old hipsters.
