I’ve just spent the last hour researching a photo that I’ve seen pop up on Pinterest for a few years now. This is no ordinary room…this is a DREAM room, a room with floor to ceiling windows, a grand piano, shelves of books and…a SWING. I SO love this room and I finally discovered the genius that designed it and the lucky person that gets to hang out in this magical space.
The lucky guy is Seattle filmmaker David Wild. He needed a space to let his creativity flow, so in 2001 he enlisted the help of architect Tom Kundig (also a Seattleite). The two collaborated and the end result, was aptly called “The Brain”.
Etched into the steel treads of the stairway ascending to his new studio’s mezzanine are Mr Wild’s father’s words: “You’ll have lots of time to rest when you’re six feet under.”
Yup, That’s a fireman’s pole!
