We’ve been really busy the last few days…roaming the streets of Williamsburg and Soho, checking out street festivals, taste testing gelato (great Brazilian place in Soho) and still trying to discover the best espresso in the city. (had a GREAT one yesterday at La Colombe in Soho). In Williamsburg, they shut down Bedford Avenue and laid GRASS! We sat cross legged in the middle of the street, on the grass and people watched for at least an hour. What I absolutely love about New York is the lack of uniformity. Every single person looks different. Even in Williamsburg, the hipster mecca, you see every walk of life. What I did notice, was the lack of youngsters. There were a handful of elders but the median age was 20-30. Where are all the teenagers? If I were a 15 year old New Yorker, I think I’d be checking out the free music and grass in Williamsburg.
