I don’t know about you…but summer did a number on my hair.  My already highlighted deader than dead ends feel like hay and I feel like it’s time to lock in some moisture before winter kicks me on my bottom!  I’m SO loving Free People‘s beauty gurus. They have THE best natural DIY beauty tips. I always have bananas that are past their prime and I’m too lazy to make banana bread, now I can just mush them up and put them in my HAIR! HA!

Mash up your banana, add in the almond oil, and mix well. Massage into your hair, concentrating on your ends, and let sit for about 30 minutes. Wash and condition your hair as usual.

Brown Sugar & Olive Oil Scalp Scrub

his scrub is really more about cleansing your scalp after a long summer spent under the sun. The brown sugar will act as an exfoliator, removing any sweat and sebum buildup that may have occurred over the past few months. The olive oil puts moisture back into the hair, prepping it for the cool, dry months ahead.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp olive oil

Combine the sugar and oil, and mix until you have an even consistency. Part your hair into multiple sections and gently massage the scrub into your scalp using small circular motions. Rinse your hair to remove the scrub, then wash and condition your hair as usual.

Here’s to…SHINY…HAPPY HAIR!!!
