It’s time for a road trip!

I was in the car the other day and all of a sudden I starting thinking about skipping my errands and driving down south and not stopping…à la Don Draper (Mad Men reference).  The greatest part about road trips is that they can be spontaneous and unplanned…you can get in your car and start driving, with no destination in mind…just forward bound, towards adventure.  Most of us couldn’t possibly just take off on a whim, we need to ask for vacation days, book hotels, Google map it and have it all planned out. Whether it’s spontaneous or planned, road trips are about stopping at old school diners along the way, dipping your toes in rivers that you pass, watching as scenery changes…from the mires and vines, to farmland and coastal beaches.

“Sometimes the most scenic roads in life are the detours you didn’t mean to take.”
Angela N. Blount, Once Upon an Ever After

A Bolt of Blue - Road Trippin

“It’s a road trip! It’s about adventure! . . . It’s not like we have somewhere to go.”
John Green, An Abundance of Katherines

I’m planning a road trip across the country this summer. We have the first three nights booked (Chicago) but after that, it’s all open to where we want to stop driving each day.  I’m really looking forward to it… Happy Road Trippin’!
