I first came across the work of Jose Romussi on Pinterest. I saw an image of a beautiful ballerina with an embroidered skirt and she held the strings in her hands so daintily. I did some research and came across Romussi’s portfolio. He’s from Chile and was an art lover from a very young age. When he landed in New York he started dabbling in embroidery and various art projects and found his niche. I personally LOVE his work, the dancers are delicate and yet some of his other pieces have a darker abstract element. Please check out the beautifully embroidered world of Jose Romussi.
“I intervene images by applying my own perception of beauty to them. Sometimes by giving them a new identity or a different aesthetic concept. It’s the chance to give this image a new emotion, a new life, a new interpretation of beauty through embroidering.”
